Howard Dean is a nitwit who couldn't even beat John Kerry and win the nomination 2004. I mean, how bad a campaign do you have to run to get beat by John Kerry?
Obama is one of the best politicians out there, and by that I mean he answers by not answering. When I took political science in high school we all had to pretend we were in Congress and writing back constituents who had sent us letters (boys and girls, this was back in the day when you not only had to send snail mail, you had to lick the stamps - but that was okay - they were only 7 cents back then so it didn't taste as bad). Anyway, I finally got the hang of it by the third letter and got the "no answer answer" down pat. Obama must have been born with the talent. Gee, I wish I had the talent to lie through my teeth and have all the liberal "intellectuals" (an oxymoron if I ever heard one) believe me.
Anyway, if I had my druthers I'd rather have an excellent statesman than a politician - not sure if McCain fits that bill, but he's a closer match than BO.
Great post as always!

If you'll reread the post I didn't say she was stupid for believing in Karma - I said she was stupid for what she said about the earthquake - if you'll notice I compared her to Cameron Diaz carrying around the Maoist purse in an area where Shining Path (a Maoist organization) had killed hundreds of people. So please, make sure you know what you're commenting on when you call someone narrow-minded - you no more know my mind and heart than I know yours.

Israel is great. I went when I was in college - our college choir sang in Bethlehem Square on Christmas Eve which was just awe-inspiring - course that was ages ago and I'm now older than dirt.
Still, it was a wonderful experience. Whenever you get to go you'll love it. It was so wonderful walking in the places where Christ walked - gave me goosebumps.
Sounds like you got some good spiritual education at camp even though the rest of it might have been not as much fun.

I knew it was hotter west of here - we've been so fortunate out my section of Texas - it hit 101 the other day, but and has hovered 98-100 but we don't have the ozone problems out this way like they do DFW and beyond. Also, our humidity has been mercifully low, so the heat index is only a few points higher. Maybe the storm that's brewing in the Gulf will bring some relief to Dallas - even though it might not be good for Houston and Galveston. I'll be praying you get relief soon - I know those boys will be starting football practice soon and that always concerns me here in Texas - it's just TOO HOT for that!
